Mediocre but happy
Originally I was only going to buy a stainless steel muffler (axle back) just for some noise , and some shiny bling on the rear, and probably what I should’ve done .. but I came across this setup and I liked the muffler style & reviews were good so I gave it a whirl. The stainless tubing and muffler itself are finished off very nicely . I recommend changing the hardware to stainless steel bolts n nuts because they give you some cheap zinc ones which will rot corrode after short time , probably why it’s only $300 . The install was super easy until the 3 bolts for the drop pipe had to be pressed out. We used a C clamp press type and pushed them out and then tapped out with a hammer. Only backed up the install 15 min. Otherwise takes about 1 hour n change to get it all bolted up . The sound is droney , Kind of new what I was getting into only having a 1.8L (R18 civic) but yes I don’t care how you cut it. It’s droney. Specially at lower speeds/ rpm’s. If you’re doing 70 at 2grand. It’s quiet. I’m not really sure how it sounds driving bc I’m behind the wheel. No rasp. More of a deep drone sound . I have no mods at all. I don’t feel much of a power increase or gas mileage difference. But I’m happy with it overall . My car is lowered with suspension and some nice wheels. So this was the finishing touch.
